Success Obioma Akagburuonye, renowned philanthropist, lawyer and engineer has been nominated as one of the major honorees at the 14th Anniversary of Verbatim News Magazine and the 2026 edition of its Annual Leadership Awards and Lecture scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Abuja.
Verbatim stated in a press release signed by Tobs Agbaegbu, Publisher and Editor-in-chief, May 14, that Akagburuonye’s nomination followed a rigorous editorial review and stakeholder consultations, after which the Abuja based media outfit ‘’approved three prestigious awards in recognition of the Managing Director of Praco International Company Limited, High Chief Success Akagburuonye’s exceptional contributions to the legal profession, engineering practice, and humanitarian service’’.
The Publisher of Verbatim explained further that the triple awards means that Akagburuonye will receive three honors: Excellence in Law Award, Excellence in Engineering Award, and Iconic Philanthropist of the Year Award, pointing out that ‘’the triple awards reflect his (Akagburuonye) remarkable achievements across multiple disciplines and his enduring commitment to professional excellence, innovation, and compassionate service to humanity’’.
Verbatim explained in the press statement also that Akagburuonye was nominated to deliver the anniversary lecture, to enable him share his experience in life and also provide valuable insights into leadership, enterprise, nation-building, and the role of private citizens in driving sustainable development in Nigeria.
In the words of Agbaegbu, Success Akagburuonye was chosen as guest speaker because of his unique personality. ‘’His background singles him out as a man who should be listened to and copied from, by a large segment of the society. From Ogbor-Uvuru in Aboh-Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, where Success Akagburuonye hails from, to his current status of national prominence and relevance; from his profession in engineering to another in law, from wealth creation to wealth distribution which he is easily identified with at present, the story of the man popularly known as Dr. Success, who met poverty at birth and fought hard to conquer it , and now facing a clarion call to rise up and take up leadership service at the governorship level in his state, reflects and indeed is, a study in intentional growth and purposeful impact’’.
The annual Verbatim Leadership Awards and Lecture celebrate individuals and organizations whose work has made significant impact in governance, business, civil society, and community development. The 2026 ceremony will bring together Governors, senior government officials, corporate executives, diplomats and opinion leaders from across Nigeria and beyond. The event will take place at the prestigious Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.
